Thurston County leads count to get a ‘true, regional story’ of homelessness

It’s not easy to ask a stranger questions such as “Where did you sleep last night?” or “Do you have a disability?” But that’s the sort of information volunteers and officials collected during the annual Point-in-Time count, conducted Thursday in Thurston County and counties across the country, with the aim to gain a better understanding of an issue that tops many Washingtonians’ priority lists.
