Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund, released the following statement about Doglio’s primary:
“We have an opportunity to double the number of LGBTQ members of Congress in 2020 and Beth’s victory is key to making that happen. Bisexuals are severely underrepresented in elected office – with just 54 serving nationwide – so restoring bisexual representation to the U.S. Congress is critical come November. We are thrilled Beth is on-track to make history as the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress from Washington state. As importantly, she will head to Capitol Hill determined to continue her work to fight climate change and empower working families.”
